ABOUT THE AbCF

The Aboriginal Carbon Foundation (AbCF) established in 2010 aims to achieve economic independence and social and emotional health and wellbeing for First Nations people through carbon farming and cultural fire credits.

We leverage diverse expertise to empower and uplift communities, fostering prosperity and wellbeing by blending ancient traditions with modern science.

Our empowerment model seeks to bridge the gap in Indigenous health and wellbeing, connecting people to their land for holistic independence. Our purpose is deeply rooted in the profound cultural ties of Indigenous peoples to the land, and we are committed to addressing ongoing disparities. Drawing on ancestral wisdom, we combine cultural knowledge and community development expertise to enhance the lives of First Nations people, both in this country and worldwide.

The AbCF supports carbon farming projects, led by Indigenous rangers, Traditional Owners, Elders and other community leaders. It connections remote Indigenous communities who supply carbon credits, with organisations seeking to offset their carbon pollution and provides training for Indigenous rangers.

We have grown since our inception to meet demand, innovation, industry, community developments and best practice, and most of all Aboriginal community needs.

Our almost 100% Indigenous staff are passionate about working to build viable economies on Aboriginal lands while increasing the community cultural, social and emotional wellbeing.

We are supported by a range of associate and project partners who are equally committed to supporting and empowering First Nations peoples. We operate on the cutting edge of ideas and community-based solutions so mob can thrive on country, connected to culture and prospering off the land.
